Iowa Collection Update: Baseball Part I (Iowa Born)
In the year 2022, the most additions to the Iowa Connection checklist came from baseball due to the fact that I started to claim managers and coaches of Iowa professional teams, which includes your minor league teams. I also included players from those semi-pro teams in the state including the Waterloo Bucks and Clarinda A's. Those decisions added big names like Ryne Sandberg, Ozzie Smith and Alec Bohm, but more significantly added tons of smaller names. You'll see those names in future posts, but today I'm focusing on those who were born in Iowa. There are 426 names in the list below, some made it to the majors, some minors, some independent leagues and others only drafted. But they all have at least 1 card in TCDB. I have an additional 264 names without cardboard that I'll continue to track. Overall I added my first cards of 14 players (Ian Moller, T.J.
